Why the name 'The Peacock'?
Some of you may think the name is because the national bird of India is the peacock, but there is a much more touching and romantic story behind the name.
Around the early 1980’s there was a trainer teaching a young lady about that area of work and ‘showing her the ropes’ in the new city she had recently moved into. After working together, Sam Rajkumar (owner) took a leap of faith and asked the young lady out on a date. Since that first date, they have been inseparable in a wonderfully happy marriage for over 20 years.
In a romantic gesture and to say thank you for helping make his dream of opening a restaurant come true, Sam named his restaurant after the one where they had their first date that changed their lives.
